March Introduction and Event!
Thank you to everyone who voted and made plot suggestions! Of course only one for this month had to be the final outcome, but that doesn't mean everything else is going to be tossed aside and forgotten. Future months will feature these lovely events, suggestions included as we can use them. New polls may also be used to determine which ones will happen for the upcoming month.
So without further ado, here is the breakdown for March's introduction and the monthly event!
March Introduction: A Darker Punishment

Signless, the castle's resident troll, attempted to speak to the Queen on behalf of the people that had been brought there. It went about as well as one can expect in this situation. Because of this, though, her mood is even more foul than usual and she has decided it's time once again to take it out on the new arrivals, and some of the old residents as well.
On the day new arrivals should be showing up, the Queen appears to those who are in the Altar Room for whatever reason. The statue of Signless will be presented to them seconds before they and the new arrivals are whisked away to another part of the castle that has yet to be cleared.
And the problems won't stop there.
The longer they linger in this new place, the more oppressively dark it is going to become. Darkness like tar will begin to ooze out of the walls, and while shadows will certainly be there, that won't be the biggest threat. If this darkness touches you, you can kiss your poor life goodbye.
Well, temporarily at least. Anyone who does fall to this mess will revive in the Altar Room in 24 hours as opposed to becoming a shadow minion like usual. But it still won't be a pleasant experience. Even if you start to run away from it, it's going to follow, and for all intents and purposes it will seem like there is absolutely no safety from this oozing darkness.
However the areas that have been cleared already are safe, it's just a matter of getting from from a location as of yet uncharted by the current residents.
In a sense this will be a "race against the clock" by which the people involved with this will only have around twelve in game hours to get back to safety, though for the sake of varying tagging speeds and different threads there will be no OOC cut off to this. Just remember to post all deaths caused by this to the death toll, with the note "*March Introduction" so we're aware that the shadow minion will not take place.
And as an additional note: Those that have the mobile phones that Sans, Colin and Rita created on their person will be able to call back to anyone left in the safe areas that also have the phones. This won't be network based (since that's not active yet) so just use the log threads in order to communicate.
The characters that were volunteered on Plurk are: Minako, Chase, Volga, Toriel, Hubert, Saul, Chara, Rin Kagamine, Norma, S24, Stiles, Yuri, Zuko, Steven and Ravio. If anyone has decided that they would rather NOT be involved, or if anyone ELSE wants to sign up please let me know in the relevant comment below.
March Event: The Music of a Soul

This attack has rattled a certain avatar more than past ones, even though thankfully this time he wasn't regulated to a tiny orb of light. He was still pretty helpless in the long run, and this has spurred him in to a decision to at least try to keep the Queen out of the Altar Room from here on out.
Unfortunately when it comes to his powers, Ozuma is still relatively new to all of this and mistakes are bound to happen.
Starting on the 8th, the "easier" shadows (the ones that only pick up people or knock them down, not the ones with the energy-draining "poisons") will suddenly be even MORE attracted to the Altar Room than they have been in the past. They won't show up in massive numbers right away, but one by one they will start to infiltrate the area and skulk around, attempting to do what they do best - start trouble and drag people off.
However something else seems to be going on with them.
A rhythmic tapping, the hint of someone humming a tune to themselves or singing softly before they notice the shadow, an instrument being played near by-- hell even something like a music device of some sort falling out of a pocket or the ring tone of the new castle cell phones going off... however it occurs, anything musical suddenly have their attention in a way that's almost trance-like. The shadows will stop moving entirely so long as that musical something is happening within their presence. The longer it goes on, the more fixated they become. They will sway along with it, unable to continue on to complete their usual goal. Should it stop, they will begin to attack again as if nothing at all happened. If it starts up again, they will once more be put in to a trance-like state.
Should a song actually complete from beginning to end, however it manages to do so, they will simply turn around and fade in to smoke as if defeated even though absolutely no weapons were involved.
However you decide to do this is completely up to you, but it MUST involve music in some form or another, be it by instrument, voice, dance or all of the above. The more the song is "from the heart" (emotionally connected to the person performing it) the stronger it will be against multiple shadows. Unfortunately none of this is going to come with any sort of instruction manual and it's going to take communication between PCs to figure out how it all works, but the sooner they manage it the better.
Because it won't end there.
One week of semi-spontaneous musicality later, the stronger shadows will begin to make an appearance in the Altar Room and other cleared areas. Your songs will absolutely have to come from the heart, have some sort of relevance to your character in order to have any affect on these shadows. If you fail at this, you can kiss your behind goodbye because the Hallow Assassins and the Nightmare Stalkers are violent and lethal in their own right and will only be angered if you fail to give them a good show.
On the 19th it will all come to a head. All off this will culminate in a "boss battle" against the largest shadow to date. This will not only take heartfelt performances to beat, but working together as well, and it won't rest until you've convinced it (for whatever reason) that your heart and soul is truly within your music.
Time to dust off those tappin' shoes, everyone. We're about to get musical up in here.

Re: Event : Plotting
... so... yeah, Ibuki's pretty much going to be OP for this event. Especially with her new portable guitar.
Re: Event : Plotting
As reluctant and embarrassed as Sans will be about all this heart-baring song and dance stuff, the fact that it's so effective and the shadow attacks are worsening is one hell of an incentive. Also, the fact that they kinda keep bursting randomly into song whether they like it or not.
HAVE I MENTIONED I LOVE THIS EVENT BECAUSE OH BOY.
Sans and some others will be using '+ FIND' (a mashup between 'Undertale' from the game's soundtrack and 'Find You' by Zedd) in the final battle.

MADEON: FINALE

It's very simple, but I'd love to see who'd be in on this.
(Ibuki this needs screaming guitar and you know it.)
Only slightly relevant to the Intro but CELL PHONES, ENERGY SOURCES, AND YOU!!!
On the home screen there are options to call, text/check messages, bring up the contacts directory, adjust settings, and a red panic button that blasts out message to all nearby users in case of shadow attacks, which will require you tap it three times in rapid succession to confirm you really want to do this, to prevent accidental false alarms. (This option is meant to enable players to come together for logs/threads and stuff.)
Hey, it also can provide the background music for your musical numbers during the event! Isn't that great?
CHARGING YOUR PHONES - included in the lesson about phone use will be mention of our new source of electrical power. This generator, while its high-capacity battery is currently fully-charged, can be refueled by directing any form of energy -- magical, mundane fire, high intensity light, electricity (but why would you), chi, heck you could even punch the recepticle for kinetic energy but then it'd need repairs and Sans would short sheet your bed or fill it with slimy substances like shaving cream or mayo for a month -- the machine will then convert it to usable electricity and store it in the battery. It has a display panel showing the battery's current energy levels, and a bunch of other monitoring information that probably won't make sense unless you've got a doctorate in quantum physics.
HOW IT WORKS - it employs simple energy transfer, which means your phones are passively recharging (without needing to be plugged in) while you remain in range. What's in range? Basically, the Mess Hall and Residential Rooms, and places like the Infirmary. The machine DOES have a cable to allow characters like Mettaton to charge themselves up at a faster rate, but any such characters will need their ports adapted to fit the plug, which may require some invasive study into your character's technology.
Questions? Hit me up.

Well if she gets to be the lead... p:

Medli is all for music and playing for other people. That was part of her job in fact! She has a beautiful harp and like Ana will be in for solos or accompaniment.
Ioder being a noble likely has some skill with music and I've headcanoned that he prob plays piano and flute, neither of which he has here, but if it comes down to a pinch he might have a favor or be willing to gain a favor to get one of the two. He might need some prodding to get the idea to begin with tho.
Hilda needs to sing with her not!boyfriend Ravio. The idea of them some how performing this song makes me giddy even though it's an incredibly somber song. Singing is prob all she's going to be good for and even that will likely take at least a little cajoling or the idea that this might actually help people for her to start. She can also play piano but again that's not a thing we have currently.
Yashiro has a thing about humming Ode to Joy among other classical songs so idk how this is going to translate for him. We'll see????
Chloe No.
(Someone make her. Get her a guitar and tell her it's for the good of the people or something.)
Rin He'll bitch that he hasn't sang since elementary school when he was in the church choir but he'll buckle eventually. Be prepared for a lot of Japanese songs.
N Also no.
(Not that I can blame him, I can't imagine he has much in the way of musical talent being so linear-minded.)
SO WHO'S UP FOR DYING IN GROUP ONE?
Bonus points if it's to make a bridge to have everyone walk over. Or just them they're fine with that too.
Bonus points times a million if the character who becomes a bridge actually monologues about sacrificing themselves for this task and Chara cuts them short.

..srsly, though, this kid can't sing for shit. Nor play for it, either. He's useless here too. 8D;;
Rinbot is a curious case. By design, she can 'imitate' any RL-existing Rin Kagamine song, but that's only a replication; singing something herself can be done just as easily, but finding something personally relevant and meaningful to her will be a challenge...and might amount to the kid having to make up something on the spot. (She'd rather shoot things; this isn't her forte.)
Ikuri can try to sing, the kid can try so hard, but just. tell me how you imagine that going; it's probably right. Having to do this in order to fend off shadows, with them getting closer if she slips up for fails; this is gonna be a new and scary experience. Hopefully she won't be by herself for any of it?
(I'm quite amused that all three pups are out-of-element in their own ways. Saul's useless as usual, the girls would rather be breaking things; they know how to do that.]
