August Event: I AM THE SHADOW, THE TRUE SELF
State of the Castle
After the events last month, it doesn’t appear that Ozuma is doing very well at all.
That is, if he’s doing anything. With the impact of the Queen’s attack still heavy on his shoulders, Ozuma’s last vestige of strength will be going into the collection of soldiers for the side of Light, and responding to the last few favors that may have trickled in during his absence.
Things seem to be a little more grim, after that. Requests made throughout the month of August don’t seem to be answered at all- or perhaps they’re simply delayed? The torches in the Safe Zones appear dim, some even sputtering on their last legs with nothing to maintain them, and the kitchen stock doesn’t seem to be in a better state, either. Among the general items expected, it seems that a good half of the fresher foods, such as fruits and vegetables, are rotten. In other cases, foods have been switched out entirely for items that don’t seem to hold any nutritional value at all. Cheese? We thought you said chairs....
It only gets worse from there.
Sol Raveh: The Empire Queen Strikes Back
With the Safe Zones compromised, the Queen won’t be holding back in ensuring that everyone’s lives are just a little less comfortable than before. Lone shadows have begun appearing within the safer boundaries, including the corridors to the living areas.
At some point during this month, her attack will truly commence. Where and when is questionable. How many times...also questionable. Only one thing is certain.
If you’re not ready to fight for the territory you’ve gained, soldiers...you’re going to lose it.
August Event: I AM THE SHADOW, THE TRUE SELF
Not content with the state of unrest caused throughout July, the Queen has set her sights on pulling out all the stops. With Ozuma incapable of stopping her, she’s ready to create a new kind of army...those that reflect the living.
Throughout the beginning of August, the behavior of the shadows within the Safe Zones might cause some concern. Are they...here to attack? Considering the nature of the creatures up to this point, some of the more astute characters might notice that it really doesn’t appear they are. Skulking in the darkest corners of the room, blurry, head-like forms seem to swivel as people pass by… like somehow, the eyeless forms are capable of more than instinctively going for the hunt.
Like they’re observing your every movement.
From the 14th onwards, these assessments, if you will, finally come to fruition as the Queen’s test army appears. These shadows, aside from being almost identical to yourself, appear to have enough intelligence to speak their own minds.
In fact, these shadow versions of characters may appear distinctly against aggression, at first. Their goal, if nothing else, is to root deep into the psyche of their ‘true’ selves, dragging out all their dirty secrets whilst pushing characters with every aspect of themselves they don’t wish to acknowledge. It’s a spectator sport, of course, so the more people they can get involved with their theatrics, the better. Strangers, friends, and family; everyone is welcome to watch you drag yourself through the dirt!
There’s only two ways things can go from here.
For those capable of acknowledging their shadow’s words as the truth, the threatening apparitions will simply fall away, eventually. No harm done, except to your sense of self.
And for those refusing to accept what’s finally being thrown into their face? Sad to say, but you might just be in for a bad time.*
*No skeletons or small children were harmed in the creation of this event post. Any parallels between those living or soon to be dead is purely coincidental, and is, by and large, just a general nod to the fourth wall. You dirty brother killers.
Note: For those with Personas, there’s two ways you may wish to go about this. You may decide to have your Personas unaffected by the event entirely- or, should you so choose, their Personas may also disappear throughout the entirety of this month. As the shadows characters will face for this month are not true Personas, but simply the design of the Queen, no new Personas can be obtained from this event.

Does this mean the Shadow/Personas can interact with characters besides the person they represent, or should they only do that in their presence?

... I ask because there's like two different appearances that Mutsuki's Shadow could show up with/change between. Having it morph between the two at the appropriately dramatic moment could be fun.

As far as I know that stuff doesn't go bad? Or at least the stores that are currently there shouldn't go bad. It's going to be the "human" food that's going to have problems, especially things that tend to go pretty quickly as it is.

a.) will his shadow version be largely indistinguishable from the actual Sans due to the fact said eye lights are small (and determining their color is difficult)?
b.) can he also shut them on and off at will?

b.) Considering that Sans himself has the canon ability (and uses it to be a trash manipulator), I'd say yes. Of course.
