As 2017 Draws Near... [YEARLY State of the Castle]
Our anniversary has come and gone, the date of our doors opening having been September 25th of 2015, but the year of 2016 is nearly at it's close and it feels apropos to reflect on what a year it has been. There would be too many things to go over individually, but I thought before announcing some important game updates I would take the time to throw some numbers out there just to get an idea of how we've done over the past year and three months.
Our current numbers stand as such
Current characters:
93
Current canons:
54
Current players:
44
Our total numbers beginning from Sept 25th until now
Total characters:
178
Total canons:
91
Total players:
87
And our total IC tallies
Total deaths:
14
Total missions:
13
Total favors granted:
135
And nearly 50% of the explorable castle has been uncovered!
Some of these numbers may not be completely accurate, but they're within a small margin of error.
But holy hell guys, I never, ever imagined this game would get this much love. I mean it every time I say it: all of our players past and present have been amazing, beautiful and oh so important to all of us mods. You guys make this game as much as we do, and we wouldn't be doing this if we didn't have such an incredible player base. We're always sad to people go when they do, but we're just as happy to have been able to be around each and every one of you. You guys all deserve a serious round of applause just for being your awesome selves and keeping this game alive and exciting! I'm really looking forward to next year and what the upcoming phases of the game have in store for everyone.
And now that we've got the mushy crap out of the way, here's some announcements!
As it was mentioned on plurk a while ago, our dear mod Bird is going to be moving on to other pastures, taking with her the modding knowledge she gained through helping our team out in amazing ways. We'll absolutely miss her on the modding team, but hopefully she'll return to us as a player some time in the near future. Goodbye for now, though, Bird! And good luck!
That said we have brought on new helpers to assist with the varying jobs that come with running our beloved game. Mandy and Panda have agreed to team up with us, so if you see them answering modly type questions on plurk or discussing mod work that would be why! Don't run away from them, they're helping!
So yes, welcome Panda and Mandy to the team! If you can't track down the usual crew, feel free to go to
You read that right, folks. There's still stuff in the works, but in the meantime you can feast your eyes on our shiny new Bestiary, complete with entries on new shadows! Oooo, aaaa, amazing...
Eventually the "Misc" section will be tackled to deal with the suggested creatures, adding more than just shadows to the oddness of the castle. If you're new or weren't aware of the page until now, feel free to add to it with your own ideas!
We've been mostly on top of housing, player contact, taken characters and the like, though that does require some input from everyone here. If you haven't commented to these pages yet, please do so! We'd like to have an accurate as possible list of everyone here!
The Hall of Statues is going to be one of our next major updates to catch up with all of the drops, which brings us to our next point: If you, for whatever reason, are planning on leaving the game please make use of the hiatus/drop page rather than just idling out! We have a very, very low impact, check in AC infrequently so waiting to idle out only causes more inconvenience for you cast mates and close CR as well as putting all of the work on the mods to take care of it. We don't mind working, but it's always a load off our shoulders to be met half way in these few important things!
And as a final reminder, if your character has met an untimely end please make sure to note it on the death page. Thank you!
Our current event for December is a low key modified repeat of last year's Mistletoe event, with details here if you happened to miss that post. Have some silly fun as the year comes to a close, and maybe get a smooch or two out of it.
Also the event that wound up accidentally skipped over in November will be making it's proper appearance at the start of the new year. For those that may have forgotten or also missed it, the information on it is here as well as a sign up for the informational classes Ozuma will be encouraging people to instruct as well as take.
Since I know we've had some new players recently as well as old players who have simply forgotten or haven't thought about it, a note!
Castle pushes/missions are not regulated to event times only. You can request and organize a mission at any time, and we in fact encourage this! The sooner the castle is cleared the sooner the next phase can begin.
Oh.
Did Ozuma not mention that part ... ?
Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone new and old who have made this game what it is now and who have made modding such an absolutely joy for me and my team. I don't think I have enough words, time or space to express the gratitude I feel to each and every one of you for just how incredible you've all made Sol Raveh. My "silly idea" absolutely came alive because of you all and has exploded into something I did not expect at all. I never once thought it would become home to so many people and each time I see that little tag on plurk or see someone talking in a chat about something happening in the game it never fails to make me grin.
I know this year has sought to kick so many of us in the teeth only to continue kicking even when we were down, but even on the worst days, even when I couldn't bring myself to tag or work on modly things there was still something to look forward to happening here and I really hope everyone feels the same way about Sol Raveh.
We've got exciting plans for the future, so here's to booting 2016 out the door so we can get on with it!
Happy Holidays to you all.

And farewell!
Sol Raveh became an extremely important game to me in such a fast amount of time. I join a lot of people in saying that this game has offered me the best CR I could ever have hoped for, and coming onto the mod team in June, I was DETERMINED to share my own sense of love and enthusiasm for this game with you all. It very quickly turned into an amazing adventure, one that started off State of the Castles and event plotting, and one that unfortunately is almost at it's end.
I am never going to forget the amazing people that I've met here, and the wonderful community that was fostered. Getting to joke around with you all, watching and sharing in your excitement over new updates, and working to collaborate with you all in ensuring that what came next had a touch of your voice in it made every grueling second of coding worthwhile
though I'm not sad to see the coding go LMFAO YOU CAN'T MAKE ME MISS THATWhilst I will still be here till the end of this week, I'll be going away pretty much the day Chara and Frisk have been scheduled to leave. Thank you so much for everything you guys have brought forward to the table, and I know you'll continue to enjoy your time here!
Re: And farewell!
Good luck, don't be a stranger. I'll see you soon anyway :)

Re: And farewell!
I've always had a blast here, and the period of time where Bird was a mod was marked by high productivity, increased timeliness in updates, and effective communication opportunities. These changes were so much more than cosmetic. You personally freed up time for me by making information easier to locate, and where once I was fielding questions many times per day I don't have to at all anymore! I'm not even a mod, can't imagine how deluged you guys got with questions. I also especially enjoyed the events and favor tracking.
Your inclusive, generous and knowledgeable performance really elevated the game and I am so glad we had you.

I mean lmfao can't lie to you buddy you've seen me...doing things for 8+ hours too many times, but I'm very glad that the additional pages and HTML have been so helpful. I hope they continue to benefit everyone in the future.
I am so glad you brought me here, my friend. I can't wait to play with you again really soon. <3

I think I speak for a large portion of us when I say that our game has that much greater with you in it, and while it's hard to leave all our wonderful friends and CR here, I look forward to wherever the future takes us. It's been such a blessing to play here with you and everyone else! You helped bring this game to life. What a great many miles we've traveled.
It's been fun, Sol Raveh! Thank you for your time and your kindness, and for all of your love. This has been one of the most enriching experiences of my RP career. And though Frisk and Chara's chapter is closing here, there are still plenty of other heroes of light. Believe in you!
And, hey... remember:
Stay determined.
RE: New Mods and Idling out
As for idling: If someone's idling out, chances are they aren't reading this post. Is this a request for the active players to alert idling players to decide if they are going to drop (and thus suggest they post to the drop page)?
Re: New Mods and Idling out
Of course life is unexpected and if something happens that prevents people from being able to inform us, it's not like we're going to be raging angry and ban a person forever or anything crazy like that. We'd just rather if someone knows in advance that they don't want to stay/keep a character they're not going to shrug and simply vanish without a word. That's a constant desire of any mod, at least that's what I think.
